Well, candles cause soot, so too many candles or too often might cause the walls get darker in time, or if not, just move the couch away from the wall and it becomes noticeable. Burning candles sometimes is fine, but every day, or ten of them at once very often, can cause soot issues to everything in the apartment.

They do give some warmth and a warm-colored light, so they are good for ambience and mood.

you put the pronoun first. ^^
