What dialect were you looking to learn? Castillian, Catalan, Mexican or South American? When I lived in Sydney I met people from Spain and Mexico and I ran into issues referred to as " False Friends:. Which means words from one language or dialect can mean something totaly different or offensive. I spoke Tex-mex spanish to a Castillian and he got offennded until I explained what I meant.
